It is as much about clothing as it is about the one moment that someone’s heart stops. There will be affect. No matter what I do, no matter what I create, it will change things. The audience is a malleable surface that will react and be touched, the only question is how. It is not just what shall I create, but when that heart stops what do I want it to say. What will I say?

Success is not on a spreadsheet or stock ticker. It is getting someone to care. I would rather someone hate my work than be indifferent. I want it to be questioned - throw it down, cry, dream, trash it, dance with it, wear it, ban it. I want something, anything, to move the viewer.

This is my mark. This is my work. It is a part of me. My heart and soul and blood, poured out onto fabric or leaves, dripping in pearls or branches. This is my name and my art. This is how I will change the world."
